A child has been airlifted to hospital after being injured in a sports accident at school.

Ambulance crews were called to King Ethelbert School, Birchington, shortly after midday following reports a girl had injured her arm.

The ambulance crew was joined at the scene by the air ambulance.

The youngster was treated at the school before being airlifted to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
