Former Coronation Street actor Craig Charles to bring DJ set to Dreamland's Hall by the Sea in Margate

Acting legend Craig Charles will be bringing his funk and soul show to Dreamland next year.
Featuring the best of the genres old and new, the former Coronation Street actor will be putting on a set at Hall by the Sea in Margate on Friday, April 12.
From Robot Wars to Red Dwarf, Craig has now established himself as one of UK’s most beloved funk and foul DJ’s, after more than 10 years of broadcasting on BBC 6Music ‘s primetime Saturday night show.
The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show was born, broadcast live every Saturday night with an assortment of classic gems and emerging artists.
The show has become a European benchmark for artists who want to connect directly with their fans, with guests including James Brown, Paul Weller, Primal Scream and Amy Winehouse.
Craig said: "Since its inception, I have been interested in all varieties of soul and funk music, without imposing any barriers and I am just as enthusiastic about fresh new talent as I am about the classic artists from the golden age of the 60s and 70s."
Outside of the radio studio, Craig has captivated crowds throughout the UK.
The maestro of funk has played at numerous festivals such as Love Box, Park Life, Festival no 6, Wychwood Festival, and Common People to name but a few.
In 2016, Craig played to over 10,000 people at the world famous Arcadia and Shangri-La stage in Glastonbury.
The gig will start at 9.30pm, finishing at 1am with no re-entry after 11pm.
Tickets are £15 plus a booking fee, and will go on general sale tomorrow (Wednesday).
Tom Ranger, music programmer at Dreamland Margate said: "We are so excited to have the legendary Craig Charles performing at the Hall By The Sea in April.
"It will be an un-missable show for all Funk and Soul music lovers. 2019 is going to be a big year for music acts at Dreamland."
Craig Charles is just one of a catalogue of acts who are set to play at the Hall by the Sea next year, with Leftfield, Sleaford Mods and more already confirmed.
