A couple grieving the loss of their baby daughter are fundraising to help other bereaved families.
Crystal Papworth and Daniel Brady's 12-week-old twin Sapphire died suddenly on July 16 last year, despite Crystal's best-efforts to save her.
The pair, who are parents to Kaitlin, five, four-year-old Elisha, Aedan, three, and Sapphire’s nine-month-old twin Brandon - have now launched Sapphire's Promise, hoping to raise as much as possible for cuddle cots, which are cooling mattresses which stop a baby’s body deteriorating after death.
This allows parents to stay with them for a few days or even weeks before their funeral.
Crystal, 30, said: “We are raising funds for cuddle cots so other families get that special time with their beautiful angels before they are laid to rest.
“We have messaged and asked business to donate items we can raffle or auction off to raise funds for much-needed cuddle cots.
“We have raised £710 towards our first first cuddle cot, and we have also raised awareness of Sids - sudden infant death syndrome - by involving members of Sapphire’s Promise as much as we can.
“We are also here for support if anybody needs us, we are a little family growing stronger and stronger.”
On Valentine’s Day, Crystal hid beautiful roses in Sapphire’s memory around Ramsgate, Margate and Birchington.
They were accompanied with a note wishing its finder a Happy Valentine’s Day.
The couple, who live in Ramsgate, also successfully held a wave of light in Margate in memory of their daughter on October 15, and plan to do the same this year.
Crystal added: “Anybody is welcome.
“We stand together, united to remember all of the angel babies taken too soon.”
