The father of twins allegedly murdered by their own mother has taken part in a charity boxing event "to show that it is possible to live life after death".

Steven Ford, whose children Jake and Chloe were found dead in a property in Castle Drive, Margate, was part of the Ashford Ultra White Collar Boxing event at the Kent Showground.

Saturday's fundraiser, which featured a series of boxing matches, was held in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Mr Ford, who won his bout, described it as an "amazing experience".

His JustGiving page has already smashed its £500 target, raising nearly £4,000 after donations from 99 supporters.

The broken-hearted dad earlier took to social media to describe his slow recovery from grief.

An inquest heard doctors are still yet to establish the cause of death of twin toddlers.

It was adjourned until the conclusion of their mother Samantha Ford's court case, with a preliminary hearing date set for April 24.

She was earlier charged with murder after the death of the toddlers.

Mrs Ford's Ford Galaxy car had earlier been in a crash with a lorry on the A229 Thanet Way between Whitstable and Herne Bay.

She was treated in hospital for minor injuries before being taken into custody.
