A young driver who ploughed into a wall after fleeing police has admitted a string of offences.
John Buchanan, 21, of St John’s Crescent, Ramsgate, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday following the smash on Bairds Hill, Broadstairs.
Buchanan failed to stop when the patrol car's blue lights were flashing, instead increasing his speed and at some points reaching 70mph in a 30mph zone, driving the wrong way around two roundabouts and running a red light.
He had caught the attention of officers by driving his blue Renault Clio at speed in the King Street area of Ramsgate at about 2.30am.
Officers also seized two small packets of cocaine from the vehicle after the crash.
Buchanan appeared before Medway magistrates the following day when he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance or a licence, and possession of a class A drug.
He was bailed to appear at Canterbury Crown Court for sentencing on a date to be confirmed.
