An interior designer from Kent is set to battle it out on a new TV show with fellow hopefuls trying to secure a huge contract at a top London hotel.
Jim Biddulph, from Margate, will represent the county in the new BBC programme called Interior Design Masters, hosted by Fearne Cotton.
The first episode goes on air on Wednesday evening in the Bake Off style show with 10 talented up and coming designers looking to break into the interior design world.
Each week, the contestants will be given a new commercial design challenge by taking on briefs for shops, restaurants, university halls of residence and even a chocolate themed hotel in Bournemouth.
There will be a new guest judge on all of the eight episodes joining head judge Michelle Ogundehin, a design expert and former editor of Elle Decoration magazine.
Guests include Mary Portas, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Sophie Robinson, Matthew Williamson, Abigail Ahern, Naomi Cleaver, Thomasina Miers and Jade Jagger.
Mr Biddulph, 32, left his job as a design writer to pursue a career in the industry after 10 years and says he's loved being involved in the programme.
"I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the show before we started. It felt like an exciting challenge and a unique opportunity to try something completely different.
"I wanted to push my boundaries and gain some fresh experience of carrying out interior design projects that I ordinarily may not have worked on.
"The first eliminations offered quite the relief, once they were over! The first round was extremely intense, a total whirlwind from start to finish. Getting back to the studio was equally full on and a rather surreal experience for everyone I think, Fearne even wiped a lamp out at one point."
Fellow contestant Frank Newbold previously lived in Rochester.
Interior Design Masters starts on Wednesday, August 14 at 8pm on BBC Two.
