A driver is being hunted by police after fleeing a crash scene near a supermarket this morning.

Officers were called at 10.10am following reports of a collision involving two cars.

It happened outside the Tesco Extra near Westwood Cross in Margate Road.

A police spokesman said: "The incident partially blocked the road but the vehicles have now been recovered.

"Police are investigating as the driver of one of the cars fled from the scene."

They added the driver has not yet been located but the car has been recovered.
