Emergency services were called to Herne Bay after a person was hit by a train.

The train line between Faversham and Margate was blocked earlier this evening whilst crews attended the scene.

Lines have since reopened as of 8.30pm but operator Southeastern warns trains may be altered or cancelled whilst it works to get services back on time.

Passengers are being asked to allow extra time for their journeys and replacement buses were also put on for both stations.

They can also use High Speed services between Margate and St Pancras International at no extra cost.

The disruption is expected to continue until 9.30pm.

One eye witness said there were three fire engines, ambulances and police at the scene.

All services have been contacted for comment.
