Firefighters have dealt with a fire in a roof after a house was struck by lightning.

The property in Weatherly Drive in Broadstairs was hit just before 7.45am during this morning's thunderstorm.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "Two fire engines attended and crews extinguished a small amount of roof insulation alight.

"There we no reported injuries."
