Fire crews were sent this afternoon to the scene of a car fire near a business park.

Firefighters were called just after 3pm and have said they have requested for police to attend as the car appears to have been abandoned.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Crews were called at 3.06pm to a car fire in St Peter's, Broadstairs.

"Breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet were used to put out the fire. Police have been requested."

The fire was said to be behind Copperleaf Business Park.
