Game of Thrones fans from around the world visited Kent for a festival celebrating the hit show.

The second Thronefest was held at Quex Park in Birchington on Sunday featuring cast members appearances, battle re-enactments and sword fighting masterclasses.

The Night King (Richard Brake) starred in the question and answer session held in the main jousting arena alongside Maester Pycelle (Julian Glover) and Commander Mormont (James Cosmo MBE).

Visitors from France and even Colorado in America attended the event to get autographs and meet their heroes.

Lupine wolf puppies were paraded, jousting displays, sword fighting, archery and falconry displays all took place on the day.

But as the show's final ever episode aired on Sunday night, organiser Gerald McCarthy says the event will come to an end as well.

"Unfortunately it's the last season so that's our last one but we've got a few ideas," he said.

"It was a brilliant day and people from all over the country and even abroad made the trip.

"We're getting rave reviews and positive comments.

"For a lot of people the highlight was the question and answer and people got an insight into the making of the show and experiences of the cast.

"We made sure it catered for everyone from five to 85.

"People could learn to sword fight and crossbows in a controlled safe environment and were over the moon with it.

"It was our second one and it was much better than last year.

"It's been fun to bring some celebrities to this part of Kent and get a taste of the show."
