The heartbroken dad of twins allegedly murdered by their mother has described his children as "beautiful babies".

Steven Ford posted "Daddy's twins xxx my beautiful babies. I love you" in a heart-wrenching tweet just hours before wife Samantha Ford appeared in court this morning.

The 37-year-old mum was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday after 23-month-old twins Jake and Chloe were discovered at their home in Castle Drive near Margate in the early hours.

They were taken to hospital and later declared dead by doctors.

Yesterday, Samantha Ford was charged with two counts of murder.

She today appeared at Canterbury Magistrates' Court today, where she was remanded in custody until appearing via video link at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday.
