Shocking footage captured on a home CCTV system shows the moment a car takes to the air after a smash on a busy main road.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash at the junction of King Edward Road and Canterbury Road in Birchington on Tuesday , with both drivers injured.
One was taken to hospital for treatment.
Stacey Kidman, who lives in Canterbury Road and whose camera recorded the incident, says she heard a huge crash sounding like glass and metal crunching.
"I thought a lorry had gone over one of the islands in the road as that has happened before - I wasn't expecting to see two cars when I looked out of the window," she said.
"I went outside and my neighbour and the postman were already with the person in the silver van.
"They were trying to get into the car but the doors were crumpled shut.
"The other driver had already got out of his car."
Mrs Kidman rang the emergency services and a passing police car also arrived shortly after the smash.
She said: "The driver of the silver van was ok. He was talking but he had a nasty cut on his head.
"They didn't want to move him as you never really know what injuries there are.
"The other driver was very shocked. It looked like he had hurt his knee."
Mrs Kidman says crashes are rare on the road due to the islands in the middle of the road slowing drivers down.
A police spokesman said officers attended the two-vehicle collision.
"Officers attended the scene along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service where both drivers suffered injuries," she said.
"One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
"The road was closed to assist the emergency services and recover the vehicles. It was reopened at around 2pm."
