Hundreds in Thanet affected by power cut due to cable fault

Hundreds of homes and traffic lights were hit by a power cut due to a cable fault.

Residents reported power issues this morning, and UK Power Networks said the power cut was due to an underground electricity cable which faulted on the high voltage network.

This caused area wide power cuts, affecting those mainly in postcode areas CT9 5, CT9 1, CT8 8, CT9 2 and CT9 4

Engineers worked to resolve the issue and power has been restored everywhere.
