Incredible footage has been captured of a pair of US Air Force planes jetting over Kent.
The American F-35s were seen twisting and turning in the skies above Ramsgate before disappearing into the distance.
Keith Ross, who captured footage of the planes flying towards the harbour, said the jets were so fast it was hard to film them.
In the footage, the planes are seen swooping over the land, leaving vapour trails as they turn from side to side.
Mr Ross said: “They did three passes before disappearing into the distance.”
According to the RAF website, the F-35B Lighting aircraft is capable of conducting electronic warfare, intelligence gathering and air-to-air missions simultaneously.
It also combines advanced sensors and mission systems with low observable technology, or ‘stealth’, which enables it to operate undetected in hostile airspace.
A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said: “We can confirm that United States Air Force (USAF) F35 fighter jets, operating out of RAF Lakenheath, were in the vicinity of Thanet undertaking essential flying training.”
