It's been another packed week at kmfm for Thanet.
Johnny Lewis from kmfm breakfast took to the open seas with the Ramsgate lifeboat, all part of the Broadstairs Water Gala. As you may know Johnny has a keen interest in boats, and things that float, having spent time on the pirate radio stations Caroline and later Laser 558 – remember them?
We gave away a fantastic prize for the family too with year-long passes up for grabs to Port Lympne and Howletts Zoo; and I had tickets to see The Hoosiers at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on our two big local soccer teams this season with regular updates on the matches with Margate and Ramsgate.
We also talked about the lack of male talent on the main sands at Margate – according to a recent survey by a woman’s magazine, Margate ranks the lowest in the best place to find a fit male! The simple solution to that is to send kmfm afternoon man Danny Williams down to the seafront - he would be a sight to behold carrying bucket and spade and wearing a pair of Speedo’s.
