Photography by young people who have been out of work or education for a year or more is to go on display at the Turner Contemporary.

Eleven youngsters, who are seeking work and new opportunities, took part in the Talent Match Photography Programme for two six week workshops over the summer.

As part of the course they learnt about shooting street photography using professional camera equipment.

Joe Stirrups, who took part, said: "I really enjoyed the course and the people in it and learning the different ways to take photos.

"It made me realise that photography could be my future.

"I can't wait to see where it takes me next."

Established in 2014, Talent Match is a £108 million national investment by the Big Lottery Fund designed to support long-term unemployed people into employment.

All photos were taking around Kent in Medway and Thanet.

Organiser Ben Marsh-Allen of The Prince's Trust said: "This was an opportunity for young people to explore their career options and think about the realities of work in the creative industry.

"The end output has been of such a high standard, we felt compelled to find a way to display it to the public.

"Thank you to Turner Contemporary for their support on this project."

The exhibition, which is free to attend, will be held at the Turner Contemporary this weekend and Saturday, November 11 and Sunday 12.
