Broadstairs man arrested for drugs offences in Ramsgate following police pursuit

A man is in custody after a dramatic police chase took place between Broadstairs and Ramsgate.

Yesterday evening officers spotted a stolen car in Church Street, Broadstairs which they pursued after the driver failed to stop.

The vehicle finally stopped at around 6.50pm after reaching Hardres Street in Ramsgate.

The suspect then ran from police, where he was chased on foot until he was arrested in Brunswick Street at around 7pm.

The 30-year-old man from Broadstairs was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance and theft of a motor vehicle.

He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply after officers discovered drugs and cash during his arrest.

He remains in police custody.
