A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in Margate.

Police have taped off Poets Corner, where the incident reportedly took place at about 2am.

The cordon remained in place while detectives investigated.

A man from the Margate area has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody while the investigation continues.
