Man from Ramsgate arrested after woman allegedly punched in King Street

A man has been arrested after a woman was reportedly punched in Ramsgate.

Police were called to reports that a female had been assaulted in King Street at about 8.15pm on Sunday, January 12.

The woman, who is in her 40s, suffered facial injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, from where she has since been discharged.

A 26-year-old man from the Ramsgate area was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm yesterday.

The suspect has since been bailed, pending further enquiries, to return to a police station on February 12.
