An arrest has been made following an assault in which the victim sustained several injuries.

Police were called to Margate High Street at about 3.55am yesterday to a report of a disturbance.

A man in his 20s was reportedly assaulted and was rushed to local hospital for treatment.

The area was sealed off for many hours after.

A 21-year-old man from Margate was arrested in Approach Road, Minster, yesterday evening on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident.

He currently remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
