A man has been charged with burglary less than 24 hours after raids at a business and home.

Police were called to a report of a break-in at a seafront commercial premises in Marine Drive, Margate.

Following the call shortly before 8.30am yesterday, officers arrived at the scene of the accommodation provider and received a report that a home had also been burgled nearby.

James Sansom, 42 of Dalby Square, Margate, has since been charged with two counts of burglary.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
