Ramsgate man Simon Elliott charged with burglary and theft at house in Cliftonville Avenue

A man will appear in court accused of burglary and theft from a house in Thanet.

Simon Elliott, of Clements Road in Ramsgate, was arrested this week after detectives launched an investigation.

Police allege Elliott, 41, reportedly broke into a house in Cliftonville Avenue in the town and stole a woman's purse late at night from a bungalow.

The purse contained cash and cards, police said.

Elliott was arrested on Monday following the reported incident on February 16 at around 11.15pm.

A police spokesman said he has been released on bail and will appear before Margate Magistrates Court on April 5.
