Man charged with several railway offences between Broadstairs and Margate

A man has been charged with a number of serious railway offences.

British Transport Police officers were called to a report of a person trespassing on the tracks between Broadstairs and Margate.

When officers arrived at the scene on Sunday at about 10.30am they arrested Chris Jones, 37.

He has since been charged with criminal damage, trespass and obstructing the railway.

Jones, of no fixed abode, attended court on Tuesday and was bailed to appear at Canterbury Crown Court at a later date for a full hearing.
