Ramsgate: Man found dead at former Pleasurama site was in his 70s

Police are investigating after a man in his 70s was found dead at a fairground.

It is thought the elderly man had plummeted from the clifftop that overlooks the former Pleasurama site.

Emergency services rushed to the fairground off Harbour Parade shortly after 9.45am yesterday.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Ambulance crews were also called and the man, from Ramsgate, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 9.46am on Monday, August 27, to a location off Harbour Parade, Ramsgate.

"The South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and a man believed to be in his 70s and from Ramsgate was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner."
