Elderly man assaulted after burglars break into Ramsgate home

A man in his 70s has been assaulted by thieves who forced entry to his home.

Two men are said to have broken into the property in Park Road, Ramsgate, last night.

They stole a number of items from inside the property, and assaulted the elderly man.

His injuries were not serious, and he did not need hospital treatment.

Detectives investigating the break-in are appealing for witnesses.

Officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the areas, and are reviewing CCTV and forensic opportunities.

Witnesses or anyone with information is urged to call the police appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/136650/21.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have driven down the road around the time of the incident and has dashcam footage that may assist the investigation.
