Cliftonville: Man knocked out by intruders at Northdown Dental Practice

A man was knocked unconscious after disturbing burglars who forced their way into a dental surgery.

The violent raid happened at the practice in Northdown Road, Cliftonville at about 6am on Saturday.

The surgery was closed but intruders forced their way into the building via the back door.

A man in his 20s, who was inside the building, was assaulted and received an injury to the back of his head.

He was knocked out cold and when he came round the suspects had left.

Investigating officer DS Vanessa Law said: "We have been carrying out inquiries in order to establish the circumstances of the incident and determine whether anything had stolen.

"We are also reviewing CCTV and forensic opportunities.

"In the meantime, anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has any more information is urged to contact us as soon as possible."
