Man being treated for serious head injury after assault at La Turkvaz Turkish restaurant in Station Road, Birchington

A man is being treated for a serious head injury after an assault at a Turkish restaurant.

Police have charged a suspect after they were called to the altercation at La Turkvaz in Station Road, Birchington.

Officers and paramedics arrived shortly before 2pm on Saturday and a man in his 40s was taken to a London hospital.

He is still receiving treatment for a serious head injury.

A police spokesman said: “Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have since charged Rashko Kortv with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

“The 31-year-old, of Park Avenue, Birchington, is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court today.”
