Bikers are being warned to take extra care as police look at two motorbike thefts which could be linked.
The first was reported stolen from a car park in College Road, Ramsgate, at about 9.20am on Monday, November 25.
The bike is described as a blue Yamaha YZF-R125 (crime reference number 46/227643/19).
The following day between 1pm and 1.45pm, a motorcycle was taken from a property in Station Approach Road. The motorcycle, described as an orange KTM Duke bike, was recovered nearby the next day (crime reference number 46/228083/19).
Officers are working to establish whether the two thefts might be linked and are appealing for witnesses to call police on 01843 222 289 quoting either of the crime reference numbers above.
Thanet inspector Julien Lawton said: "There are some simple steps that motorcycle owners can take to reduce the chances of their vehicles being stolen.
"For example use a disc lock to secure the front brake disc, and if you can’t park the bike in a garage, find somewhere under lighting where it is overlooked."
Further advice from police is to: keep your bike covered to make it less accessible to thieves; property-mark parts of the bike so it is easier to reunite you with them if stolen, and it stops thieves selling them on; and secure your bike to a ground anchor or a permanent structure.
