Mum-of-three Samantha Murphy named as Margate stabbing victim in Elfrida Close

A woman who was stabbed to death at a house in Margate has been named locally as mum-of-three Samantha Murphy.

Now her family have launched a fundraiser for her after she was found with stab wounds at a home in Elfrida Close, Margate in the early hours of Saturday.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene at about 3.10am on Saturday.

She was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A woman in her 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender.

Both remain in custody while inquiries at the scene continue.

It is believed that the victim and the suspects were known to each other.

Her niece, Megan Murphy, has launched a fundraiser to help her children pay for her funeral.

Megan wrote that the family "don't know exactly what happened yet" but wants to give Samantha a "beautiful send-off".

"Please keep our broken family in your hearts, especially my baby cousins," she added.

Officers have already spoken with several potential witnesses but believe there several people who have important information who are yet to get in contact.

Anyone with information which can assist, including eyewitnesses and anyone with privately held CCTV or dashcam footage recorded in the area, are urged to contact police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/136649/22.
