William Crump and Gerard McGuinness charged following burglaries in Margate

Two men are due in court after three burglary offences in Margate were reported in one day.

William Crump, 30, of Lister Road in Margate, and Gerard McGuinness, 25, of no fixed address, were both charged with a burglary in Railway Terrace where tools were reported stolen, a burglary near Fulsam Place where a laptop was taken, and an attempted burglary at a property in Tivoli Park Avenue.

Crump was also charged with fraudulent use of a bank card in Margate.

McGuinness was also charged with causing criminal damage after spitting against a police van.

The two men were arrested by officers on Wednesday and the incidents were reported to have taken place on the same date.

The pair were charged on Thursday and appeared in Margate Magistrates’ Court the following day where they were remanded in custody.

They will next appear in Canterbury Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
