A person has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A299.

There were long delays on the New Thanet Way coastbound approach to the St Nicholas at Wade roundabout near Monkton following the collision.

Police confirmed they attended the two-car collision shortly after midday today.

“Officers assisted with the recovery of one of the vehicles involved,” a spokesman said.

It is understood one person has been taken to hospital.

The ambulance service has been approached for more information.
