Police are hunting for the owner of a medal after it was found in a suspected burglar's house.
The Queen's Korean Medal, given for participation in the Korean War, was found at a home on Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs yesterday.
Also seized during the 9.45pm raid was a West Point hat badge from the US Army's top training base.
The Korean War was fought between the Communist-backed forces of North Korea and the Us-backed South Koreans between 1950 and 1953.
The Ramsgate man - aged in his 40s - was arrested on suspicion of burglary, handling stolen goods and possession of drugs. He is currently in police custody.
Chief Inspector Ed Ruffle of Kent Police said: ‘We do not underestimate the sentimental value these items may hold and we are keen to reunite them with their rightful owner.’
Anyone with information regarding the items is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/42940/20.
