Police call off search for elderly woman from Margate

Police have called off the search for an elderly woman was had been since Thursday night.

Evette Heywood-Beldon, 81, from Margate, had been unaccounted for since 9.15pm on Thursday, when she was last seen in the Cecil Square area.

But officers have confirmed this morning that the woman has now been safely located and there are no longer concerns for her wellbeing.

At the time of her disappearance, Heywood-Beldon was wearing a dark blue jacket, white shirt, blue trousers and carrying a small handbag.

She was described as being around 5ft 3ins tall, of slim build, with short dark hair.

Police thanked the public and media outlets for their support in locating the woman.
