Pupils at a Thanet primary school have been taking inspiration from the classroom to release their debut music video.

Members of the after school Recording Club at Dame Janet Primary Academy, Newington Road, Ramsgate, posted the three-minute film to their YouTube page.

Titled Don't Bump Your Head, the rap song takes inspiration from the eight to 11 year olds going to the first aid room.

"We started writing some of the words for the song and then decided to film it.

"It took about a month or so to bring it all together.

"I really didn't need to do much, they were really good with coming up with the ideas for lyrics and I just helped them to make them rhyme."

The film features the five members of the club as well as lyrics relating to the headmaster.

Talking about what the best part of the process was Mr Woodward added: "It was so much fun to explore what ideas the children had and that's what it is all about.

"It's also helping them with the way they use English skills."
