A school left without heating in several of its classrooms will be closed to some of its pupils tomorrow.

Hartsdown Academy in Margate said boiler issues meant it will not have heat in the majority of the school.

A statement on its website said: "We are able to open for staff, year 11 and 6th form by using parts of the building with heating. We will give out further information on Monday. Apologies for the inconvenience, we are working hard to find a permanent solution."

Hartsdown Academy in Margate made the announcement on Sunday

The management team at the school, in George V Avenue, added a site team had been in the buildings today to check the situation before the announcement was made.

Temperatures in Margate are predicted to reach a low of -1C overnight with tomorrow not forecast to reach higher than 4C.

Similar freezing conditions are expected throughout the county tonight.
