Pictures show the trail of destruction after a “speeding” driver crashed into four parked vehicles.

Police and fire crews were called to Nash Road in Margate shortly after 10.30pm yesterday.

The driver was not at the scene when officers arrived.

A police spokesman said officers carried out a “thorough search” of the area.

Enquiries are ongoing to find the driver.

It is not known if anyone was injured, but witnesses say several cars were “written off” in the crash.

One woman, who asked not to be named, said: “At least four cars have been written off due to a driver that was obviously speeding.

“One person was in her car five minutes before this occurred and the man fled the scene, but not before shouting and asking ‘who’s going to fight me?’

“Everyone came out [of their homes] to see what was going on.

“People use those cars to get around and get to work, and due to a lack of common sense, four cars will be unroadworthy.”

An investigation into the circumstances is underway.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 06-1669.
