Shocking pictures have revealed the extent of a huge mound of waste dumped in a car park.
The enormous pile of rubbish appeared after Christmas Day at Broadstairs railway station as litterbugs flocked to the area to fly-tip.
The car park nearest St Peter's was swamped with festive packaging, such as wrapping paper and cardboard.
Strong winds also exacerbated the issue by spreading rubbish further across the unsightly scene.
Ward councillor Mike Garner (Green Party) told how he has previously raised concerns with Thanet District Council about the litter hotspot.
“It all started after Christmas and the majority of it this time is Christmas rubbish like cardboard, wrapping paper and all that sort of stuff," he said.
“Unfortunately, people have dumped it there and it has just built up.
“That spot in the car park does have a lot of fly-tipping - the majority of which is businesses who don’t want to responsibly get rid of their rubbish and tend to dump it there.
“It is quite a problem and I have been pushing for the council to take proactive enforcement action against businesses doing that but they haven’t seem to have done that yet.
“I would like to see some CCTV cameras there because it really upsets the majority of businesses in the town who pay to have it done responsibly.”
Cllr Garner said the chaotic scene had since been cleared - as council officers were spotted giving the car park a spruce up yesterday.
“There was more than I have ever seen before there and it really was a big rubbish heap," he added.
“As soon as one of these big mounds start, people seem to think, ‘Oh well, what’s another little bit?’, and it just keeps piling on. It is really quite disappointing.”
