Police investigating after shots heard in Norman Road, Broadstairs

Shots have been fired into the door of a house.

Kent Police received a report at 8am today that a suspicious noise had been heard earlier this morning in Norman Road - a quiet residential street running alongside St Peter's Recreation Ground in Broadstairs.

It is thought the noise was caused by an "unknown weapon" being discharged.

Officers attended the scene, where they found damage to the door of a property.

No-one is believed to have been inside the house at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Officers are conducting inquiries to establish the circumstances.
