Staffordshire bull terrier dies in Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate as RSPCA launches investigation

The RSPCA is investigating the death of a staffie after it was reportedly thrown to its death from a block of flats.

Police were called yesterday afternoon to reports a dog had died in Trove Court in Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate.

The male brindle staffordshire bull terrier was confirmed dead at the scene when police found it on a grass verge, and the animal charity is now looking into how it happened.

RSPCA spokesman Katya Mira said: "We are very concerned to hear about the horrible and sad death of this dog. It sounds an incredibly upsetting incident for onlookers to witness.

"At the moment we do not know for sure what happened, whether the dog was thrown from a window or fell.

"We cannot be sure if the dog was dead before the fall or died on impact.

"We ask anyone with any information to call or us on 0300 123 8018."

Police were called just after 2pm.

Police spokesman Adam Westgarth said: "We were called to 2.11pm on November 6 to Trove Court in Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate, to reports a dead dog.

"Officers attended and the animal was confirmed deceased. The RSPCA are carrying out inquiries."
