Police pursued a car for about 30 miles across Kent before deploying a stinger.

The chase began shortly before 11am yesterday after a car failed to stop for officers on the A249 near Sittingbourne.

Police used a stinger to stop the vehicle

A long pursuit was authorised as the vehicle headed east through the Swale, the Canterbury district and into Thanet.

Police then used a stinger to burst the car's tyres in Minnis Bay, Birchington.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.
