A teenager was threatened with a knife in an attempted robbery, police say.

The 17-year-old victim was riding his Lexmoto scooter along St James Avenue, Ramsgate, when he pulled over at the junction with Kings Avenue to make a telephone call.

He was then approached by a man who is reported to have threatened him with a knife and demanded he hand over his phone.
