A five piece post-punk band are including Thanet in a whistle-stop tour of Covid-compliant performances - in what will be one of the few live gigs to go ahead in Kent since the pandemic began.
Brighton's Squid will be playing in the hall of the Cliftonville Community Centre on June 12, as part of a small run of shows before their major UK tour in September.
The last time they played in the county the band and crowd packed into the sold-out Elsewhere in The Centre, Margate.
But this time things will be very different, with the organiser ensuring all social distancing measures are adhered to.
Sammy Clarke, live music promoter for Art's Cool and venue programmer at Elsewhere, said: "This show will take place with a sat down and socially distanced audience, with tickets being made available to book in pairs to those who pre-order Squid's debut album via the Squid store, bleep or Bandcamp.
"The Cliftonville Community Centre's hall will be set out in a Covid safe manner with all of the most up to date government advised procedures around socially distanced events being carried out, to ensure that everyone has a gig experience that is as safe as it is fun and memorable."
After more than 12 months without live music, Sammy cannot wait to get back to some sense of normality.
He said: "After a year that saw the way that we do things in the live music sector dissolve seemingly overnight, I am overjoyed to see live events make their long-awaited return.
"Since playing two sold out shows for us at Elsewhere in 2019, Squid have gone on to play in front of sold out crowds at much larger venues across the UK.
"So the opportunity to see them return here to play in such an intimate and unique setting will be just too good to miss."
The band have named the tour 'Fieldworks' after their upcoming record Bright Green Field, due for release on May 7.
Instead of a straight performance of the finished tracks on the album, the band are using the show to test out ideas and collaborate with some yet to be announced special guests.
The band said: "With all this time rooted in one place we've been hard at work writing new music together.
"We thought that this little tour of places, off the beaten track, would be a great opportunity to show you all some new tunes and some really new tunes.
"We can't wait to play some places that aren't on the traditional touring circuit and see all your faces."
Although it is rare for bands to visit the Cliftonville Hall these day, it used to be a place you could see one of the 20th Century's most famous stars.
David Bowie, when he was still known as Davey Jones, regularly performed there in 1965 with his band The Lower Third.
