That’s the opening line to McDonald’s latest TV advert promoting its seasonal range of frozen drinks.

The 30-second slot goes on to say you know it’s summer when trousers become shorts, shorts become shorter, lunchtime is tanning time, the world shares its hot dog legs, anywhere is a sun lounger and we call nodding off a siesta.

The ad received a mixed reception from Thanet’s tweeters.
