The Libertines have announced their upcoming gig on the Kent coast will be their last for the foreseeable future.
The band are set to play at the Wheels and Fins festival in Joss Bay in Broadstairs, naming their specially-curated day, on Sunday, September 9, Sharabang.
They have toured continuously since the release of their third album in 2015, but will take a break to focus on their new hotel, bar and studio in Margate.
Carl Barât, co-frontman of The Libertines, said: “Peter, Gary, John and myself think it’s about time we took a break from playing live until we have something new for everyone to hear.
“The Albion Rooms studio is finished, it’s beautiful and we want to concentrate all our efforts writing and recording the new album."
The bar in the Albion Rooms is near completion and is set to open soon, while the hotel is scheduled to open next year.
Carl said: “This will make this last show very special indeed as it should bring this Libertines chapter to a close with a SharaBANG.”
Last week, the band announced their sponsorship of Margate Football Club.
