Man in hospital after attack in Ramsgate High Street

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after an attack in the early hours of this morning.

The victim was walking along Ramsgate High Street with three men and a woman when they had a verbal run-in with a group of men and teenage boys.

The group left but as they reached the junction of Hardres Street, the victim, a man in his 30s, was approached from behind and assaulted.

He sustained an injury to his torso and was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious yet stable condition.

The assault is reported to have happened at around 4.25am this morning. Officers attended the scene and inquiries are currently ongoing.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the time of the attack, or anyone who might have private CCTV in the High Street area of the town.
