If you've ever wondered how it felt to own any of Margate's iconic attractions, your chance is coming soon.

Winning Moves has announced that the seaside town will be getting its very own edition of Monopoly.

With a release date pencilled in for March 2019, the company is keen to hear suggestions on what should be on the board.

Margate is to get its own Monopoly edition

Landmarks likely to featured on the board are Dreamland and the Turner Contemporary, but there's plenty of room for many other town favourites.

Sales executive Jennifer Lau will be in town in September to talk to people about what they think should be included.

"There's so many reasons why we've chosen Margate," she said.

"I am from Ramsgate and so I've been saying for ages we should do a Margate version and I've finally got my way.

"There's many places people don't know about.

"People always come down for Dreamland, the Turner Contemporary etc - but they don't always know about places such as the Shell Grotto or Dane Park.

"There will be plenty of room for places of culture and heritage, as well as local shops, organisations and restaurants."

Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells have previously been treated to versions of the popular board game.

Suggestions for the Margate edition can be emailed to margate@winningmoves.co.uk
