Incident in Grange Road, Ramsgate sparks delays

Police and ambulance crews were called after a woman was injured in a fall this afternoon.

The casualty, believed to be elderly, suffered a suspected head injury when she tripped in Grange Road.

Traffic was diverted via London road and Nethercourt Hill after the incident. The road reopened just after 5pm.

Twitter users took to social media to report the incident, but police said speculation about a possible crash was not true.

A spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 3.39pm on Saturday 19 March to a report that a woman was injured in Grange Road, Ramsgate. It is believed she may have tripped over.

"Officers are currently at the scene and Secamb have also been called.

"There are no reports of any collisions."
