Two people have been airlifted to hospital following a house fire.

Officers remain at the scene near St Mildred’s Road, Ramsgate, where a blaze broke out on Saturday morning.

An air ambulance was seen landing at Government Acre in the town. KentOnline understands it has since landed at Kings College Hospital in London.

A police spokesperson added: “Kent Police was called by South East Coast Ambulance Service at 10.28am to assist with a road closure near St Mildred’s Road, Ramsgate, while emergency services responded to a house fire.

“Two people have since been taken to a London hospital via air ambulance.”

A fire servie spokesperson added: “Kent Fire and Rescue Services was called to a house in St Mildreds Road, Ramsgate.

“Four fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus, used main jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

“Two people were passed into the care of paramedics. The cause of the fire is not yet known.”
