Man with knife arrested after two women assaulted and cars damaged in Lower Northdown Avenue, Margate

A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill after residents reported seeing a knife in Margate last night.

Two women were attacked and a number of cars were also damaged during the incident in Lower Northdown Avenue at around 7pm.

A man aged in his 20s and from the town was arrested arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage, affray and making threats to kill.

A knife was also seized.

He remains in custody while officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The two women were unknown to the suspect.
